Schengen Visa - Step by Step Guide
We are pleased to provide you with a Step by Step guide to completing your visa application with Jade Travel. The instructions below should be adhered to IN FULL for each applicant – all items are essential so do not send us anything until you have all of the required documents together. Once we have received your documents one of our team will personally make sure that your visa application is complete. If anything else is needed we will contact you on the e-mail address or phone numbers provided – please provide full and accurate contact details.
STEP 1 - Once you have confirmed the details are correct, please date and sign Client Contact Sheet.
STEP 2 - Gather the following documents:
Please submit all of your documents in duplicate (one original plus one photocopy), if you fail to do this it will delay your application.
PLEASE NOTE: if you work in private employment (eg nanny, housekeeper or au pair) then you must also submit your employers passport as well as a photocopy of it.
(1) A passport or official travel document, valid for at least 3 months longer than the validity of the requested visa, with blank pages to affix the visa sticker. Your British Residence permit must also exceed by at least 1 month the validity of the requested visa.
(2) One completed application form signed by the applicant (or the legal guardian in the case of minors). (please note: nationals of: Russia, China, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyztan, Latvia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan must provide two application forms)

(3) One recent colour passport photograph. (please note: nationals of Russia and China must provide two passport photos)
(4) Evidence that you have sufficient funds to cover the cost of your intended stay (for example your most recent bank statement which must be dated within one month from the time of application and feature your full name and address, or traveller's cheques), this is calculated at around £35/day that you intend to spend in the country.
(5) Confirmation of return travel to France in your name. This can be either tickets or a confirmed booking from your travel agent, which must show receipt of full payment (plane, train, ferry or Eurotunnel tickets). All proof of travel must be original, photocopies will not be accepted.
(6) A confirmation of your hotel reservation or a certificate of board and lodging ("Attestation d'Accueil") to be obtained by the person you are visiting in France from the local Townhall ("Mairie") or Police Station ("Gendarmerie" or "Commissariat de Police").
(7) A recent letter -less than 1 month old - from your employer, or - if you are self employed, - a letter from your solicitor, your accountant, your Bank manager, or your local Chamber of Commerce. If you are a student please submit a recent letter -less than 1 month old- from your school, college or university confirming attendance. If you are an "au pair" or domestic help, your employer's passport and a letter from your employer. If you are not working, a recent proof of occupation -as listed above- for your spouse along with his/her passport and marriage certificate. The letter should indicate that your employment is permanent and will continue on your return from France.
(8)Please note: minors under 18 must supply original birth certificate, if traveling without parents they must supply a notarised letter from their parents or legal guardian authorizing them to travel to France and also enclose one of their parent’s original passports.
(9)If you are traveling through Germany you will require Travel Insurance covering you for the whole period of your trip.
STEP 3 – Ready clearly the attached General Guide and double check your documents are ready as required.

CHINA VISA
To apply for all types of Chinese visa, the following are required:
• One completed visa application form.
• Two recent passport sized photograph
• A valid original passport with blank pages
(There must be at least one totally blank page in the passport. Pages for endorsements or amendments cannot be used as a visa page.)
Travel Visa:
Travel information including the booking of airline ticket and itinerary in China.
No multi entry visa for Travel application.
Business Visa:
An invitation letter/Fax from a Chinese Government Department or Government-Authorized company. For multi entry visa, the invitation letter must be original.
